On September 5, 2020, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary participated in events held on the occasion of Denmark's Flag Day 2020. The Crown Prince and Crown Princess first attended a respect ceremony at 'The Citadel' (Kastellet) in Copenhagen held in order to honor soldiers and officials who are or have been deployed abroad by Denmark. Crown Princess Mary wore a new blue bespoke coat dress designed by Danish fashion designer Soeren le Schmidt.Afterwards, a church service was held at Holmen's Church. September 5 is an official day which is celebrated for the purpose of honoring Denmark's deployed soldiers, and celebrated with various ceremonies and events across the country. The Flag Day was celebrated for the first time in 2009.
